KENNETH AUTHOR

Let the cynical person do the research, because without doubt we have nothing to question.

More and more people are feeling comfortable talking about their online dating experiences, or even admitting to the fact that they’ve turned to the internet in order to find a mate.  It was not long ago that most people would feel very embarrassed to say that they had a dating profile online because we once associated that with desperation.  Before “Online Dating”, these types of services were associated with those “Video Dating” services that “completely helpless” people used, or at least that’s how they were portrayed in the media.

It’s probably best described in the “Lowered Expectations” segments that were so popular in the 90’s on Mad TV.  (Hey, I remember when I was 12 and I thought Mad TV was genius!)  Those skits showed the saddest and most pathetic people on the planet making…

The outfit pictured above is an interesting concoction of sporty (with the Nike top) and a bit more refined (with the wide leg high rise paints from Anthropologie). I topped it off with an American Apparel bow, a necklace I found on a thrifting venture, and some Urban Outfitters wedges. Since I paired opposites in my outfit, I thought it’d be fitting to have comparisons in the following photos. The pictures of scenery from both country and city life offer another interesting juxtaposition- and let me get out a little Texas and Chicago love at once.

It’s award season. I never watch awards shows. I figure I shouldn’t have to sit through 3 hours of over-the-top, scripted, rehearsed programming to learn who has been chosen by their peers to take home a statue. I know I sound jaded but I just can’t help thinking about the other things I could do with that time. I read the results after the shows are over, which takes about a whole 10 minutes.

On top of this, I’ve never understood the whole process behind each award. If only it could be this straightforward:

Francina at Seasons Poetry has nominated me for two blog awards, the ABC Blogger Award and the Genuine Blogger Award. She is a regular visitor to my site and she always leaves supportive comments. I appreciate every word of encouragement she has given to me.

Thank you for your support and for sharing my work…
